Clomiphene (Clomid)
Clomiphene is an ovulation stimulator used in the treatment of ovulatory failure in patients desiring pregnancy. The most common brand of clomiphene prescribed is clomid.
How clomiphene works
Clomiphene tricks the brain into thinking that the body’s estrogen levels are low. In response, the body increases its production and release of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH helps stimulate ovaries and LH helps release mature eggs.
