Embryo donation is when healthy eggs from one woman are implanted into another in the IVF process.
How embryo donations work
In embryo donation, the donor undergoes ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval. The recipient undergoes in vitro fertilization with the donated eggs and sperm. To optimize the chances of success, the recipient(s) will undergo a few tests including a sonogram of the uterus, basic blood tests, an analysis of the sperm, and a mental health screening.
