Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG)

Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) induces ovulation and pregnancy in anovulatory, infertile women.

hCG mimics luteinizing hormone (LH) by releasing a mature egg from the ovaries. In IUI or IVF this is called the trigger shot which is strategically timed to happen at the same time as the follicles mature to ensure the release of eggs for fertilization.

  • Induces ovulation when used in IVF or IUI
  • Addresses ovulation problems
  • In men, produces testosterone for sperm production
